(14,177 posts)Low taxes for corporations? Wages so low that workers have to rely on government programs to survive? Their tone deafness on any issue of equality? The fact they #Bluelivesmatter even when an officer kills someone who is handcuffed? I really don't get the love for that party they are wrong on almost every single issue. I am happy she at least gets this issue. I am glad she is speaking out knowing that people in her own party will attack her. But, I would suggest she takes a hard look on why they are against equality and that she understands it doesn't just stop with the gay marriage issue in fact it probably doesn't even begin there.

(45,984 posts)However, after decades of being the party of social exclusion and profiting from political positions that are racist, misogynist, homophobic or Islamophobic, it is not going to be easy for the GOP to become enlightened overnight, even out of political necessity. It has for too long been the party of Jesse Helms, not Barry Goldwater.

(12,655 posts)the party has a chance to ditch the crazies and reinvent themselves for the better. without reasonable people, they would quickly descend into a gaggle of huckabees and we would be left with one party rule. as much as i love dems, i don,t think one party rule and having only one major (noncrazy) party would be good for democracy.

(1,144 posts)Not to be cliche, but Cupp was a professional ballet dancer for several years. It is difficult to work in a professional collaborative artistic environment and not get close to some people with whom you share your creative life. It's also unusual to work in the ballet business without physically trusting and engaging gay men and women who gravitate towards the arts.
This is over folks. Elvis has left the building. The forces of evil have lost this battle in American culture forever. From now on there will still be firethrowers, but those messages increasingly will be viewed as anachronistic.
A great pride weekend to all! What a wonderful reason to wave flags.
