GOP Wants To Start A New Culture War

Republicans have officially lost the culture war – so now what are they going to use to drum up fear and hate in this election? Ring of Fire’s Mike Papantonio and Farron Cousins discuss this.

As they say in the region of the country where the GOP hopes to start the culture war. Too may people are waking up and realize they've been strung along for 200 years or so. "Don't hate me because I foreclosed on your farm. Look! Look! Over there! A person with a different color of skin. Hate him! Not me!"

Even in Northern States. It only needs some churning-up by crackpots or politicians hoping for political gain for it to rise to the surface.

Southerners came for work to more industrial areas in sizeable numbers around WWII. Sometimes they brought families. Sometimes they married local people and started families here. Regardless, Southern-ness has permeated what was once 'Yankee' territory to a great degree. I'm not sure if there's ever been a study, but I'm sure the South-to-North migration has affected the politics of Northern states substantially.

1) Distract

2) Divide

3) Defeat

4) Repeat

Every election cycle must also feature a new straw man for Murkans to be afraid of.

And with the corporate media blaring their message everywhere, the plan never fails.

Reminds me of Jim Jones and the Kool Aid...

…what we mean by "culture wars".

I think (some) white men are really profoundly threatened by the rise of women, the rise of a different definition of sexuality, and the empowerment of non-white people. They feel their unquestioned privilege slipping away and just at the moment that happens they will become even more reactionary, more determined to prevail.

They won't just throw in the towel and go home.
