There is a desire to push the test-to-destruction of the human as far as possible. Well, naturally, that's what test-to-destruction means.

We all take our vacations (called holidays up here.) And most companies start their employees with 3 weeks. I left my last job before retiring after 18 years with 6 weeks vacation. We had full benefits, sick days , bonuses, paid overtime at time and half and I went on a few company paid trips.

All my friends who worked would think it crazy not to take their vacation days.

Not to mention 10 or 11 statuary paid holidays.

I wear long underwear too. LOL.

And I vacation in the winters going south. Mexico, Florida, cruises and lately Cuba. which is the best. I would rather have a week of Cuba than a month in Florida. I know this because 2015 I did Florida for a month.... I love Beall's to shop but this past visit just was not as good as others.

First, here's an article from 2013, in the NYT, highlighting what economists and unions have been saying for years. US productivity isn't the problem. The wage gains of productivity are not 'trickling down' to the people that actually do the work.

Not only has average US economic growth over the past 50 years has been less that that per year, but at this point it would be environmentally unsustainable. It would devastate the planet. So Jeb shouldn't get a pass on the silly first part of his statement just because of the abysmally stupid second part.

His spin doctors can try to massage his message but I see it as a true "gaffe".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_gaffe#Kinsley_gaffe

A Kinsley gaffe occurs when a political gaffe reveals some truth that a politician did not intend to admit.[7][8] The term comes from journalist Michael Kinsley, who said, "A gaffe is when a politician tells the truth – some obvious truth he isn't supposed to say."

Like the elites in Animal Farm, Bush wants the 99% to work harder.

I do believe that his campaign has written down somewhere a message that would have gone over much better. It would have talk of increased employment opportunities. But that message ran through the filter in Bush's mind. It's the kind of filter that an establishment politician builds up in his head after decades of listening to, and do the bidding of, the 1%.

And their message is that the beatings will continue until morale improves.

What. The. Fuck. Why do people vote for these guys? Anyone who is not rich who votes for Jeb is voting against their own economic interests and overall well-being. Satire warning.

It just boggles my mind.

Jeb Says Americans Must Work More, God Against Retirement

WASHINGTON (The Nil Admirari): Republican presidential candidate and former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush announced today Americans needed to work more hours, and God was against retirement because it isn't in the Bible. The candidate's positions have been characterized as Bush's framework for further enriching the rich on the backs of workers, and destroying Social Security.

And...

The former governor ignored questions about his future plans for the sick and the poor, except to say, "I'll get to them soon enough, and you can bet on that."

A socialist once got 3% of the national vote - while he was in prison.

The "You don't work hard enough" campaign of the loser mentioned in the OP could actually do worse than that.

In the 2012 general election disabled Nevada veterans heard Sharon Angle say "The VA needs to be privatized" which is republi-speak for "get rid of" and she lost in a landslide.

Keep up the good work Jeb, blowing the GOP nomination may be the smartest thing you've done in your life...
