Jesus went on immediately, however, to point out their hypocrisy and commanded the people, “But do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not” (v. 3). He then cited the hypocrisy of the Pharisees. They lay heavy burdens upon the people but would not do anything to make the load lighter. Their own works were done to be observed by men rather than God. They made broad their phylacteries, the Scriptures which they customarily bound to their forehead and to their left wrist, containing the Scriptures of Exodus 13:3-16; Deuteronomy 6:5-9 and 11:13-21. This they did, not only when they prayed in the morning, but throughout the day, for the purpose of being seen of men. They also enlarged the borders of their garments, the tassels referred to in Deuteronomy 22:12, which were tokens that they were holy men.

Corruption of Fundamentals, Usurpation of a true message, this is the rePukes way. I hope they are right, reap what you sow.

they insult and ridicule those weaker than themselves then complain when their own party takes away the Social Security, disability and pensions they worked for.

The last I looked Jesus didn't make people work for the food he handed out. So, much for the OKGOP being Christian. Maybe they are devil worshipers what with the up-side-down stars on the GOP logo. Because The only religion that would teach their congregation to NOT feed the poor would be devil worshiping hate mongers.

Provided that the poor, like their similarly unassisted non human fellow carnivores, can hunt, slaughter and eat the fat and rich.

Otherwise, all similarities exist only in the poor Teapublican's empty head and cold, unfeeling heart.

Or, to put it another way, sometimes even the animals need food stamps. There are many big game supplementary feeding programs, both private and public. For example, the winter supplemental feeding program at the Elk National Refuge, in Wyoming.

QUOTE: "Winter feeding of elk in Jackson Hole began in 1910 and was originally initiated to reduce winter mortality of elk, thereby helping preserve a population of animals important to local residents and interest groups ..."

Humanity towards its fellow needy Human beings. I remember as a kid, in school putting our pennies together to create enough money for a "care package" for some kids in Africa who needed food to survive after a drought that killed many of their crops. That kind of thinking doesn't exist in the GOP. Perhaps if they were taught this lesson, they might have grown up to think differently. When the Earthquake and Tsunami hit Japan, I heard many Republicans on twitter say ..."This is what they deserve for PEARL HARBOR!"...for me giving 800 dollars from my paycheck seemed the right thing to do..and now I am forever linked with Japan, as my dollars helped save some lives from total ruin. The GOP is totally clueless.

CHILDREN and disabled folks. Not all are in these categories ....but enough that it begs the question of these hard hearted bastards....Are you really OK with children and people with disabilities going hungry? We mustn't let kids get too dependent on others providing food, eh? Well, I guess that means we need to do away with child labor laws, too, so those kids can get out and get a job to earn their keep.

Since every xian (or jhwh/allah/etc-worshiper) can literally buy their way into some form of sainthood, why bother caring about their "religious" utterances.

In My Humble Opinion, most truly religious people don't try to get involved with politics (the realm of the beast.)

Let's stop worrying about pronouncements from self-elevated priests/acolytes/gurus and let's look at what they have done for humanity as a whole. Not just for their little groupie cluster - for the population including the poor, the refugees, the ones really needing the most care.

I don't know nothing about the real Jesus but I hope he has the thunderbolts to clean out the false worshipers.

Before, during, and after receiving them. This fact is easy to look up so the only reason to voice this statement is a deep seated hatred of poor people. If people work a job that doesn't pay enough to live on... that's another problem. A problem statements like this are used to prevent trying to solve.

33. Reasons you don't feed Wild Animals
Thu Jul 16, 2015, 05:59 PM
Jul 2015

1. “People” food isn’t good for animals. Human foods aren't nutritious enough for animals and may cause serious health problems.

2. It makes wild animals lose their natural fear of people. Feeding can make large, potentially dangerous animals become too comfortable in residential or recreational areas. Once animals learn they can panhandle for food, they can become a nuisance—or even worse, a safety risk.

3. Feeding wildlife from or near vehicles is dangerous to animals, people, and property. Animals can be hit by moving vehicles or might try to enter vehicles in search of food. In Yosemite National Park in 1998, more than 1,100 vehicles were broken into by black bears—causing more than $630,000 in damages.

4. Wild animals who depend on people for food can cause injuries or spread disease. When wild animals gather for food handouts, it can cause crowding and competition. These unnatural conditions increase the chances of fighting and injury among animals. It can also increase the spread of diseases, some of which may be transmitted to pets and humans.

http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/feed_wildlife.html

Proof that once again the Republicans in general are dumb animals.

40. Republicans might think reasons 2 and 4 apply to poor people, also.
Thu Jul 16, 2015, 08:53 PM
Jul 2015

Maybe even reason 3.

See, they want poor people to fear rich people and keep their distance from the gated communities. Since "poor people" is Republican code for people of color, they definitely want them to fear white people and keep their distance. Maybe the Oklahoma Republicans can make it illegal to feed panhandlers, like they did in Florida.

Actually, they wouldn't care about reason 4, as long as poor people only spread disease among other poor people. Oh, and that will remind them they need to repeal Obamacare, too. They wouldn't want poor people to depend on having medical insurance to keep them healthy. They should just tough it out like wild animals do.

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]The wording of this TeaGOP meme is a simplistic paraphrase of just one reason feeding wildlife is prohibited, and is especially worded for emotional arousal of their ignorant, bigoted base.

Every NPS location has its own highlighted reasons specific to their wildlife, but all I looked at also link to the page you posted for more complete information.

The NPS is looking out for the safety and welfare of both animals & visitors.

The TeaGOP is looking for validation of their cruel prejudice towards the poor.

As John Kenneth Galbraith said, "The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness."
