What did she supposedly hang herself with? Don't they take away belts and such? Is their security video of who enters the area where the cells are?
There should absolutely be an investigation but I hold little hope that it will result in anything. They will circle the wagons and protect each other, as always.
We all will be expected to shed tears.
that angers me about all of these deaths is the petty offenses connected with them.
As the president said yesterday - for things that many of us have all done. Jaywalking, taillight out on a car, selling cigs out of our own pack, and a many other so called "criminal" offenses. The books are cooked so that the police have an excuse to arrest anyone they want with the smallest of excuses.
And for what? Well mostly so that they can harass and bully people of color, so that they can collect "taxes" from the poor, so that they can feel big about themselves when they have nothing to feel big about, so that they can waste taxpayer money chasing "criminals" while the real criminals are ignored.
This is no longer a country ruled by law - it is a country controlled by an incompetent law force that is closer in nature to the kind that we object to when we call other countries a police states.
Every questionable death of someone killed, especially for these little crimes should bring down a federal Justice Department investigation on both the killers and the community that is involved until this harassment ends. This case included.
No one shots a cop over these small offenses but we certainly see cops shooting people for that reason. In this case and because this county has had racial problems before this needs to have an outside source verify that it was a suicide.
We can no longer trust local police. And that is a shame. We do not feel protected. And we are not protected. I do not need protection from small offenses. No one needs protection from small offenses. This is a national problem and it involves over zealous police and the courts system that backs them up on this. Just exactly what the president was talking about yesterday.

Corruption and white privilege will protect the cops. The county MIGHT end up paying a few bucks, insurance will take care of that and the family will be "awarded" for her death. Money means shit in cases like this.....no closure, no justice, no peace for those who get the $$$$$ yet still have a murdered daughter to bury. Money solves everything. No one will be charged. Guaranteed. These type of white folks got to keep "those people" in their place and as they have done for generations, will kill/murder/execute to accomplish that goal of white domination and supremacy. FOR GENERATIONS!!!!! 
Texas is a neo-confederate state, just like most of the 'new' south. This shit is going to end, and I feel it won't end pretty. This country's races are headed for a showdown, if there isn't a sea change of attitude among the privileged of this society.
Folks, The Problem of 1776's "fathers of our nation" is still with us. Here it is generations later and the people with privilege are still "perplexed" as to what to do about The Problem. It's not a localized problem, MD, Texas, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, California, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan "sundown towns", too many to name really, hell I'd be willing to bet, every state of the union.
Oh many on here will start with and others on other sites already have started with, "let's wait for the facts" ect, ect, ect,. "She must have done something to the police officer to have had her head slammed to the ground and a knee in her back". Oh it is guaranteed people are looking for some type of criminal record on Ms. Bland at this very moment. "Combative"? Speaking up for her human rights against the new massa is more like it from what I heard her screaming on the video and the video maker's comments. The police told that person he better leave, but given that he was white, they did not pursue him. Thank god he was white or we would not have this video proof. She had a gun in the car? That one might show up in their 'explanations' of why this vital, vibrant young black woman was arrested and had to commit 'suicide' by hanging in her jail cell. Drugs? That one will probably make an entrance onto the stage of their kabuki theater. GOD! I feel very angry for what this woman had to endure in living through this arrest and dying, alone, in a cold, cold jail cell.
I got to stop. This is extremely anger provoking and immensely depressing. When will it end? I pray for her family and friends.
