My family and I were in Nagata Japan last fall meeting a friend and her family. I was shocked to see how beautiful it was. Nagata was hands down the cleanest City I have ever been in the world! The streets and sidewalks were unbelievably clean. Not a speck of dirt or trash anywhere.

When I got home I learned, in 1945 this beautiful City of Nagata (by the sea) was next on the list to have an atomic bomb dropped on it, but the morning the B29's took off -Nagata was fogged in. So they detoured and dropped "Little Boy" August 9th on Nagasaki.

I asked our last Japanese exchange student Yuta, "How could our grandparents and parents have been at war, and kill each other, but today American soldiers would die to defend Japan" (and is one of our closest allies)? He looked shocked, and didn't have an answer. Anyway, I wish Japan and its people all the joy in the world. Thanks for posting.

In Western Colorado we have many natural hot springs. Some commercially developed and some still as nature created them and off the beaten path. Give us a few thousand years and we may have elevated the use of them to such a beautiful experience.
Thanks for the post.

People have accepted that bathing in water like that will probably pollute it, and as for bathing, most of us are restricted to showers, or the kind of bathtub that is kid safe...meaning the water in the tub barely reaches your ankles. I once visited Scotland and got to sit in an old fashioned claw foot tub, with all the hot water I ever could have, coming up to my neck. My father told me I best enjoy it, because unless I go to a super rich hotel, or a heated swimming pool, I will never experience that again.. How sad we have become!!

How Americans have lost their water rights...in the sense that, People scream about how we waste water here in America. Hot Tubs are wasteful!!! People need to use a kid safe bathtub! USE A GODDAMN SHOWER!! IT uses less water, and yet... the Rich have all the hot tubs and the swimming pools and all the water they could ever have and want, but the rest of us are restricted to taking showers, or using tiny little bathtubs, that won't even get your entire ass wet. Whoever thinks that way has never been to the tiny nation island of Japan... but of course Japan as an over abundance of water, mostly from rich snow, melting and emptying into underground caverns that are tapped for water. There are many, many natural volcanic hot springs used for Onsen and Rotenburo.. and the entire attitude about bathing has been something that goes back thousands of years in Japan.

Some how we have been duped here into believing America doesn't have enough fresh water. Yes, I know about California and its drought. But look around, the Rich sure has their swimming pools full, and their fancy hot tub parties. Some one suckered us into believing the longer you go without bathing, the more you conserve water...or take a shower!! Take a tiny bath! I will never be rich enough to enjoy something that on the whole is very healthy for all of us. Stress is one of the leading killers in this country, and all the massage in the world, can not compete with relaxing all your muscles and aches in a hot tub full of water... yet we have been brainwashed to believe there is not enough water here... if that's so..how come the Rich have all they want? When I take a shower, I take my time. I don't rush in and rush out because I want what is due me.. the luxury of hot water.
