Teflon suit -- I don't think this is going to knock him off his horse just yet. The GOP stupid runs deep.

(13,297 posts)The GOP field is so bland and obnoxious, who could blame the electorate (with brain-dead thinking) to cling to the only candidate who has some semblance of contrast to their losing roster of candidates.
The only thing that can give their pitiful existences any hope for tomorrow is getting an adrenaline rush of hatred that mixes smoothly with their morning coffee to keep them feeling alive.
FoxNews has trained them quite well actually.
He is of their making.

(13,297 posts)Seems to me like they are trying to help Trump get back on his feet. Interesting...
Wondering what FoxNews missives are directing this change from on high.

(1,933 posts)than the total lunacy of Trump (we all knew what he was like),
is the idiocy of those who support him. What kind of American
wants THAT person to represent their party - or worse their
country on the world stage?
Can you imagine it? I can't and I pray that if he does win
the GOP nomination (yes, gopers are that stupid), then
Dems and independents must come out and vote in droves
to make sure WHOEVER wins the Dem primary wins the
general election.

(13,297 posts)Somehow he became GOP's candidate and did end up becoming Governor of California
Crazy. And it happens.

(1,933 posts)I don't think either of them were as bad as Drumpf
when it comes to attacking and insulting others with
such derogatory terms. Is that the way gopers want
their president to talk?
I'm sorry but I think it's a sign of mental disturbance.

(46,215 posts)not Trump himself.
Referencing Schwartenegger, he strategically chose to run when there were more than 10 candidates for governor in California, meaning he needed a plurality to win (11 percent or more) versus a majority (51 percent or more). And he capitalized on his celebrity, not his ability, to win. A lot of people voted for him, thinking it would be "fun" to have him as their governor, without considering the actual repercussions of their vote.
I see a similar pattern with Trump, coupled with taking the presidential race to the ultimate reality show where voting for Trump is like voting contestants "off the island" or something similar. They either hate Obama so much, that Trump is the gold and shining object they reach for, or they think he actually speaks for them.
Wish H.L. Mencken were still alive to comment.
