Donald Trump Remaking the GOP In His Own Image

During an Iowa campaign event last weekend, Republican clown candidate Donald Trump caused a stir in the Republican ranks when he verbally attacked Senator John McCain’s position as an “American hero.” Yet, even after putting his foot in his mouth every day since his presidential bid announcement, Trump still leads as the frontrunner on the GOP ticket.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Grand Old Party at its worst.

Ring of Fire’s Mike Papantonio and Farron Cousins discuss this.

The GOP can go the way of the Whigs without the Donald's help, too.

It is 1979 and my friends and I are laughing at the notion of "Bedtime For Bonzo" actor being elected.

NO WAY, right?

Moreover, Reagan was running against a president seeking re-election after a disappointing first term. I don't think Reagan would have won under any different circumstances.

Reagan was at least affable, even for those of use who rightly considered him a dummy and, again rightly, thought he had a poor record as governor of California. The Donald isn't at all likeable.

Bernie Sanders, the candidate who best represents America's disenfranchised, will clobber Trump in a general elections. Even Hillary Clinton would, partly because Trump billionaire is a pretty odd character to think of as anti-establishment and in spite of the fact that no intelligent person would call Mrs. Clinton anything but establishmentarian.

Jeb did far worse in his support of the swift boating of John Kerry. Hillary voting to give Bush AUMF was also not respectful of the troops. Only Congress has the Constitutional authority to declare war which will send troops into harms way.

With a 9 percent approval rating of the do nothing Congress, anyone with a pair of gonads would criticize them because everyone knows it needs to be fixed.
