Sen. Sanders and Rep. Ellison Lead Fight For $15 Minimum Wage

A coalition of Democrats in both the House and the Senate have introduced legislation that would raise the federal minimum wage by the largest margin in history. Led by Bernie Sanders in the Senate and Representatives Keith Ellison and Raul Grijalva in the House, the proposed legislation would bring the minimum wage of hourly workers to $15 an hour.

This is the most ambitious increase that we’ve seen, and is a full $3 an hour more than President Obama’s proposal of $12 an hour.

Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

Constitution Ave. in DC some carrying signs, "$10.10/hr Not Enough" to Capitol Hill where they gathered with Sen. Sanders, Rep. Keith Ellison and other legislators about the need for an increased 'living wage'. Many of the employees work as cooks, landscapers and clerks and are minority black and Latino workers.

Two class acts on the ticket. Neither one fears Fox and their silly talking points.
