Why the precariat requires a basic income (Prof. Guy Standing)

There is a good deal of information on the idea of implementing and guaranteed basic income. This idea is not new, nor is it without good theoretical underpinnings, experiments and many proponents.

This video gives some a good outline of the issues surrounding the movements behind the idea and introduces the term, the Precariat, which represents the emerging work force and its precarious nature, as well as its dangers.
