Cops Invade Woman’s Home with No Warrant, Assault Her, Demand She Do Their Job for Them

Pflugerville, TX — Tori Thayer was asleep on the night of August 2 when four armed men forced their way into her home and assaulted her. The assailants, who were looking for Thayer’s roommate, were all members of the same gang, the Travis County Sheriff’s Department.

“I was ready to run for my life and throw something at them,” Thayer recounted after hearing four strange men break into her home in at 3:00 am.

After breaking into the innocent woman’s home, deputies then demanded that Thayer tell them where her roommate was, to which she replied that she had no idea.

Frightened but assertive, Thayer kept her wits enough to pull out her phone and began to record the home invasion. What she captured on video was nothing short of infuriating and a ridiculous violation of her civil rights.

For demanding the cops end their warrantless assault on her person and property, the deputies proceeded to attack Thayer. She was slammed to the ground and handcuffed — for her own safety of course.

“And another officer got behind me and put his knee into my back and thrust me to the ground while one stayed on my chest the entire time and handcuffed me,” recalled Thayer.

Deputies continued searching her home without her consent.

“I was dumbfounded, honestly I’d never imagine something like this happening to me, I hear it on the news see on my newsfeed … but you never think about it happening to you,” said Thayer.

Eventually, Thayer would be allowed back up but the harassment and intimidation would not stop. Deputies claimed they received a call from the family of her roommate, Carly Christine. They had broken into this innocent woman’s home at 3:00 am to check on the welfare of Christine. Christine happened to be fine. However, the only one who needed help was Thayer, who was being attacked by four armed thugs.

At one point, the officers demanded the Thayer find out where Christine was, as if she was required to do the job of these officers.

That much is obvious, if they claim that it will be shot down. You don't slam someone to the ground, sit on their back while cuffed looking for someone a relative called in as missing. This is sick and disgusting and these fucking criminals should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the fucking law. I am so sick of this shit - especially when the cops get off on reprimands or light (usually no) sentences behind actual bars. One would think that a bad cop would be made an example of each and every time they break the law, logically they have the least excuses for criminal behavior. 1 they know the law, 2 they are sworn to uphold it, 3 their behavior should be shown to NOT be beneficial to their careers - thereby showing other law enforcement the negative effect on your career and life for breaking the law you knew of and swore to uphold. Sick and disgusting.

Pfuck the Pflugerville Police.

Let Chief Officer Hooker know your thoughts on this here:

Office of the Chief
Chief Hooker_web.pngMessage from Chief Charles Hooker
Pflugerville is experiencing change. Law enforcement success in making Pflugerville a safe city are the result of many individuals, working together. In Pflugerville, we have a strong team dedicated to providing the citizens a safe and pleasant place to live.

In 2013, the City of Pflugerville’s population was close to 51,894. As the community grows, the Police Department is committed to meeting Pflugerville’s needs by improving and expanding the services that we offer. This is and will continue be achieved through the implementation of proactive policing methods and a series of crime prevention initiatives.

The department is recognized as one of the area’s leading law enforcement organizations and has set a new bench mark with the 2012 Citizen Survey. The results of this survey confirm what I and many others have believed for many years concerning the quality of this department. The results of this survey, as it relates to our department, are OUTSTANDING. Each and every employee can be extremely proud of our accomplishments.

We will continue to work diligently to maintain our position. We will also strive to make Pflugerville one of the safest and livable cities in Texas and the nation. The department’s main goal has always been to make Pflugerville one of the safest communities in Texas. This goal can only be accomplished when the police department and the community work together.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call upon us.

Sincerely,

Charles K. Hooker

This is the problem that we have in this country......people who do not have this happen to them think that it is ok, since if you don't have anything to hide or haven't done anything wrong, this won't happen to you. I hear this so often. Too many people think that the only ones who are in danger from the police are the ones who are criminals. So they allow the abuses to continue...to other people.

Any violence would have been excessive. But as violence goes within such an anodyne context, it was outrageous.

Also, without knocking for whatever reason, the woman became an unambiguously innocent victim of the whole violent episode, and the police, no better than burglar thugs. What was their rationale for violently subduing her and arresting her. Notably, since she had offered no violence, what was there to subdue. If anyone was entitled to show violence it was she, but as far as we know, she didn't even swear at them.

What could make technically grown men so readily inflict violence on a woman, in this case, clearly, on the entirely spurious grounds of official authorisation by reason of their badge. I'm not entirely convinced that they feel inadequate in the genital department, never having heard it as a medical fact, but that kind of disproportionate bullying seemed more of a characteristic of spiteful girls in my primary school.

After Thayer’s story made local news, however, the department made an attempt to censure their misdeeds by using threats to gag those who would spread this story and video.

In a statement sent to FOX 7, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s department said an investigation is underway and that , “any further statement or publication of evidence in the case, on television or social media, before a thorough investigation is completed is inappropriate and interferes with the integrity of the investigation.”

might as well have been women, themselves. Imagine becoming unnerved because this lone woman was yelling at them. There is the fact, I suppose, that they had acted like lunatics, taking a sledge-hammer to crack a nut, and could not have given the lady any justification for their completely gratuitous vandalism.

Are they in the right profession, even - without a brain-cell between them?
