All about making money, screw the country.
And I haven't heard one intelligent person yet say they support Trump, it's usually clueless morons who hate "them crooked politicians" but love crooked businessmen.

(24,007 posts)...just reading those words, it absolutely sounds exactly like something that would have burbled forth from Palin's always open mouth. (Damn you, John McCain.)
Contrary to an opinion expressed above, I would NOT love to see him get the nomination. I want there to be NO chance that this buffoon could occupy the Oval Office. None at all. (Not shouting, just emphasizing.)
Of course, I feel that way about all the Republicans currently running or considering it. They all make my blood run cold. John Kasich seems to have a smidgen of compassion, but I do not know if that is all for show. Not that I am a skeptic or anything.

(95,337 posts)But what I can't figure out is if he's out there trying to help the Democrats or the Republicans.
Because with the Democrats he helps them because he really is just saying exactly what a growing number of Republican voters (mainly those associated with the Tea Party) truly feel. And this sort of language is alienating the moderates away from the Republican party because it shows just how far to the right the Republican Party has been hijacked since 2009. I mean it was always a conservative party but even normal conservative creds can get you primaried by these hardcore tea party trump-loving right-wing crazies. And it is alienating those moderate conservatives who feel there is no home for them left in their party.
But in a way this benefits the Republicans because let's face it - no one is really paying attention to the other 82 thousand GOP in the race unless someone comes out and says someone truly truly shocking. Like Huckabee who would deny an abortion to a 10-year-old who was raped by her stepfather or Fiorina touting her shitty job record at HP. But for the most part the other candidates can pretty much debate and discuss their issues away from the prying eyes of the media since the media's top priority is seeing what really truly dumbass thing Donald Trump is going to say next.

(15,139 posts)enough to steal, anyone, including a gasbag like Trump, could conceivably find himself occupying the White House. However, even if the voters went off the rails and elected him, I don't think Trump would ever move into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. He'd consider it not up to his standards.
Never underestimate the stupidity of the American people, though. Anything's possible.

(15,139 posts)California governor. I remember that after he was elected Pres. I was visiting family in New Jersey and my staunchly R aunt was going on and on about what a great family man he was and an upholder of family values.
None of this matters to me, but I reminded her that Mr. Family Values was on his second wife who was pregnant when they tied the knot and that he had no relationship at all with his adopted son from marriage #1. I also told her he signed a liberalized abortion law as governor. Her response: all lies.
Can't argue with stupid.
