MIT scientist hasnt taken shower in 12 years, keeps clean spraying live bacteria on his skin

'I haven't taken a shower in 12 years': MIT scientist gives up on washing and claims to keep clean by spraying live bacteria on his skin

What did one man learn during his education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology?
Not to shower... ever.
That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but it is no joke that chemical engineer and MIT grad Dave Whitlock has not showered in a dozen years because he wants to preserve bacteria on his skin.

Instead Whitlock sprays a mist containing live bacteria on his skin twice a day, Mother Dirt, which is sold by the Cambridge-based company he helped found, AOBiome, according to CBS Boston.
Whitlock said: 'I have not taken a shower in over 12 years.
'No one did clinical trials on people taking showers every day.
'So what's the basis for assuming that that is a healthy practice.

I'm not convinced by his answer at all... How about if the horse's back itches and rolling on the ground relieves that?

Which causes BO. The spray supposedly has lots of the amonia-oxiding bacteria which is why its called AOB spray.

I was surprised to see this newsclip this morning because I only take showers occasionally myself but have noticed every time I do my BO gets pretty bad a couiple days after I shower. But it slowly decreases on its own the longer I dont take a shower with soap. For my bits I use baby wipes every few days.

I have to shower when I wake up and after working out. Two mandatory times. I also shower if I am going out for a social event so max 3 showers a day but most days just two. I know some have to shower before bed but for me it's when I get up.

I didn't notice BO other than a musty smell, but that could be the clothes.
