(10,495 posts)to pick on a newly acquired, old refinery in Texas City, Texas. Two of the 4 budget proposals had estimates on the number of people that would DIE because they were not fixing some of the most dangerous known conditions. These proposals were labeled the Straw House, Stick House,Brick House, and Impenatrable Fortress and had cartoon representations next to them. Then BP had to come up with how much did each of their little "Piggies" deaths cost in total after paying off family, defense lawyers and ad budget to rehab image. They went with the Stick House budget because profits were maximized there and they would ONLY KILL two or three workers. They missed the estimate and killed 15!
While on probation for that they killed 11 more just on the Deepwater Horizon (they killed several more in between, but only one or two at a time). After we asked the DOJ to recind their probation Eric Holder let them off early.
