When I was a kid my parents would go to the local drive in, "Stardusk" theater here in Sheboygan, WI,) and us kids would play on the playground there until dark, then we'd watch a couple cartoons, and fall asleep during the feature.

Later, when I was about 20, I was projectionist there.
Showed many 80's splatter movies, nudie flicks, and a few good movies like "Popeye" and "Blues Brothers."

Now? (sigh,) that area is a trailer park.

When I was a teenager, the drive in theater was a hang-out, although we drank and smoked doobies rather than watch movies.
