(631 posts)Answers to the question: "So you're actually going to raise taxes on the wealthy? By how much?" (Paraphrase).
Why is every other candidate afraid of such question? Because they are bought and paid for by the 1%.

The Senator also spoke at length on subjects essential to American workers and the middle class like affordable college education and investing in jobs and education in the US instead of prison incarceration.
The necessity of paid family medical and sick leave for workers on par with the rest of the advanced world should be implemented and we can do better in significant areas so as to be on the same level as other industrialized nations. The lack of a COLA increase this year for *Social Security recipients seriously effects vulnerable citizens, which Sanders wants to try to change.
Regarding Climate Change, there's urgency, and he also emphasized the growing, harmful influence of Citizens United and big money in the US political system. With much detail and practicality Sanders outlined measures to support and fund proposals. Bernie seemed to enjoy Larry David's SNL comedy skit, but I hope he won't send him to speak at rallies like he joked!

It's kind of funny watching them squirm a bit.
Everyone gains when moms and dads can stay at home for a few weeks with their new-borns. That's a really important program that we need no matter how much it costs.
Same with free tuition for college (and other post-secondary education) at state schools. Everyone will benefit.
Sorry, but a lot of these very wealthy TV stars are probably paid way more than they are worth.
Lots of people would like their jobs and could do them well.
Sometimes we think we have "earned" our way when in fact we have just been lucky. I am using the polite "we."
But it is true. There is always an element of bad and good luck in failure and success. We should all be willing to do our share.
Some people do their share in jobs that pay very little. They deserve healthcare and education for themselves and their children, family leave and all the basic services and things, the necessities that well paid people take for granted.
Media personalities earn quite a bit. They are a bit scared of Bernie.
I greatly respect those media personalities like Bill Maher who have expressed their support for Bernie.
Thanks to all who can overcome their own greed and support Bernie.
It's about time we join the rest of advanced civilization and take care of Americans whether poor or rich.

(368 posts)Senator Sanders, once again, made a very convincing argument to those listening to the program. Every time he has an opportunity to do so, he wins. My same rational for the debate. To me, and many of you, exposure is the key. The more people who hear him, the increase of support will continue.
