And I understand that the DNC has finally cut a check.

There was a Wisconsin Dems representative on Current TV this evening bragging about having "advertising parity" with Walker, so I'm guessing that they got considerably more.

7. It's not about Obama. It's about US making this vocal.

Obama is already seen as an enemy of the state by those who don't like him. So he can't win over some people---unless these people see a benefit for themselves. But when people hear this coming from other locals. From their own neighbours. It takes on a higher importance. Many people are jaded by politics, but not so much by their neighbour. People need to get to their head, bully pulpit is not as powerful at times as our voices united.

8. I remain shocked and saddened by the anemic response on the part of the national dems
Fri May 25, 2012, 02:23 AM
May 2012

The DNC has finally responded, but surely this should have received all the energy the dems could put in, instead of a measly million or two dollars. Rachel gets it -- this is a national emergency. Sure Walker is ultimately a weak link and the dems would benefit from his entering national politics -- but Wisconsin is the very heart of the progressive movement, it always has been, and this really could be a death blow. It was such an amazing opportunity too, after all the PEOPLE of Wisconsin did last year. They did it for the dems, but please please know, only reluctantly. The choice they were forced to make between Falk and Barrett was almost an insult to the nobility of their struggle, so the least the dems can do now is give it their all. Otherwise, there's going to be a new third party, mark my words. And maybe that will be a good thing. How does "Progressive Party" sound?

On the other hand, look how long it took Egypt to get an election. Can we afford to wait 5,000 years for the republicans to lose their grip on power if we let them bust the unions permanently? Look at China. Do we want to live like that?

9. Americans who seek a single-party state are traitors

No question. Period. It's completely antithetical to the idea of a democratic state.

I've had to explain to them that a republic is, by definition a democracy. At least an actual republic, rather than those name-only Republics like North Korea. even the sort of "Republic" that the John Birch society (and prior to them, Alexander Hamilton) function as a Democracy (albiet, an extremely limited, anemic democracy...)

Just like all the Republican plots to eliminate many Democrats from voting, they plan to get rid of unions so Democrats can't compete.

The GOOP can't win on their record or philosophy so they have to use dirty tricks to swing elections.

Rah rah America. Democracy in action.

14. This is the main reason

why American will continue to go down here. This news segment says it all, politicians no matter which side will continue to chase money for elections and voters will always be convinced by big money and at the end of the day the people spending big money will be rewarded for the money spent and the cycles goes on and on and on. Take money out of politics? now what difference will that make if the stupid ignorant people are still left to affect the lives of me and my children.

Bought politicians will prioritize the needs of the buyers before the needs of the people and it doesn't matter if its the union or big corporations doing the buying. Just stop voting for big money politicians and demand accountability from all that are in office and not just from the ones from the opposite sides

Wisconsin is the heart of the progressive wing of the democratic party. Unions are the party's lifeblood. That's why losing this election could be a death blow at the national level. And then there's grave danger of the whole world becoming authoritarian, as Europe collapses under its "austerity measures" too.

Maybe the progressive countries of South America can save us? Certainly not Canada, look at what's happening in Quebec.

The rich are happy though. That's something, right?

Just the way she looked at him and spoke about The Right to work State and getting rid of unions kind of reminded me of a psychopath from a movie getting an orgasm as she thinks about how she is going to torture her victim to death.
