Good point, Old Crow!
Change the location, change the education level, change the age range.

You won't find many college educated truck drivers, at least not in red states where they tend to resent the educated to begin with.

My red-state brother drove a truck for a few years and resents the heck out of my advanced degreed husband. Yep, my brother votes with the GOP and listens to hate radio.
I hate spending holidays near them. The dread has already set in.

That was almost 40 years ago, but my understanding is that if anything, it is probably more conservative today.

Auburn may not be truck-stop "red-neck", but what this student did was very courageous on this campus, and heartening to see the response he received.
