(9,350 posts)The removal of the Bible reference was not terrorism, but it was also unneeded. The whole point of the TV show was discovering the meaning of Christmas and Charlie Brown's sadness at the extreme commercialization of Christmas. The bible verse comes as one of the members of the Peanut gang tries to explain the true meaning of Christmas. How do you do that part of the play without the bible verse? Do you say something like; "the true meaning of Christmas is to spend time with family and remember to love them"?

(127 posts)This was a play at a school. If the school had a problem with parts of the play they shouldn't have put the play on. I have no problem with the separation of church and state, or Charlie Brown's Christmas. This is basically less than a tempest in a teapot which fox news has tried to turn into a hurricane katrina.
