This may have been posted in the past, but I just saw it on reddit

It is a documentary about Jack Abramoff, and how corrupt congress really is. I've not watched it yet, but plan on it tonight. I know my tender emotional state probably does not need this right now, and I can understand if this is just the wrong time to post this, but I am too intrigued by truth and knowledge, no matter how disturbing, that I cannot ignore the opportunity to watch this.

It's chilling what these greedy charlatans have been, and likely still are, doing.

I think I want to cry. Citizens United only opened the flood gates on what was already fifty feet under water.

Maybe it is time for a revolution.

And one of the parts that bothered me most about it is at the beginning when some of these Republicans "get religion" and decide to clean up congress because the Dems are in control and are too corrupt...so then the republicans learn that you can make more money through religion, and then they become more corrupt than the dems had been. Not that Dems aren't corrupt. I think too many politicians believe you have to play the game the way it's set up, which means corruption, no matter which side you are on...hell, even Hillary supporters here talk about how important it is to have enough money to defeat people like the Kochs, which is why they think Hillary can win and Bernie can't. But to me that is admitting that Hillary is corrupted by money too (which, I believe she is). The whole system is corrupt and needs to be changed. We need to get money out of politics.

It is way past time for a revolution.

I watched the whole freakin thing, almost 2 hours straight through! I knew a little of some of this, but had no idea. This is a MUST WATCH and definitely needs to be spread far and wide. It is one thing to know in general about Washington political corruption, but to see what they have here and to see how most politicians and power brokers survived it (more corruption) is mind boggling and thoroughly disgusting.

I am leaving this piece even more committed to being Bernie Sanders elected and fighting for Publicly Funded Elections! It is the only way to attack the ROOT PROBLEM, campaign finance. This corruption affects EVERYTHING and EVERYONE in America, and many outside it!

I have seen oil companies pervert our justice system (ongoing in New Orleans with BP), I have seen asbestos companies do the same things. Insurance companies, Big Pharma... it doesn't matter, they get what they want! Wall Street sits at the top of the heap. Republicans and Democrats are all playing this game, don't lie to yourself and say it's only the Republicans. Our once great country is rotten to the freakin core and it is way past time to do something about it!

Thanks for sharing this, everyone here at DU needs to see this documentary. I dare any Hillary supporter to watch this and say that all of her massive donations, speaking fees, Clinton Global Initiative money, all of it means nothing and has no influence. If they can say that with a straight face after watching this, they are either lying, severely brain damaged, or hopelessly naive.

We never really learned much about politics when I was in school. I think it's different now and many of the teachers bring in current events in politics to get kids thinking. But this would make a real difference, I think, in waking up our youth to pay attention to politics early in life, instead of late in life, like I did.

I found politics (civics?) extremely boring, but that is because it was dehumanized by not talking about real people and real events. It was just leanring about the system...how many representatives, what the house and senate were, etc. It was more like a history class, when in fact it should be a big part of our lives in the here and now.

civics in many now a days. And this documentary is a good explanation of how we got this messed up, ignorant electorate who looks the other way while we are robbed blind and have our votes stolen.

I knew about two thirds of it, partly due to connections with Indians, but I didn't know how these f*ckwads were connected from way back.

I'm not a fan of the death penalty but for this shit and what it/they have created... the death nell of democracy I am firmly in favor of capital punishment.

They should all be hung by the neck until dead.

saw this years ago. Of course I watched all of the hearings and followed this story that went on for several years before the House of Jack's cards fell apart and (Tom Delay's).

Unfortunately he served time but the machine still lives on, not a single thing has changed as result of this exposure.
