I was married to one and I'd say at least 90% have asked for or given a "professional courtesy". Those are a violation of their oath and of both state and the federal Constitution. There is usually only one person in every department that will write a ticket to his boss or his bosses boss, let alone another cop. It begins with a ticket and ends in the blue line.

But I respect her expression of pain and disillusionment with the Rice verdict and the state of policing in minority communities.

Here's the scenario: Virtually everybody will carry a firearm. We are a skittish society. We see a stranger openly carrying a firearm, so we shoot first and ask questions later, only to learn there was no harm intended by the victim. This scenario will happen more and more frequently as opponents of gun control continue to make headway on their agenda.

We are now reduced to suing the toy company for making a too realistic toy gun that was not painted orange. But this is the kind of garbage that will inevitably happen in a gun saturated society
