It's becoming clearer and clearer that a good chunk of Wisconsin is fucking insane.

...are notoriously racist and backwards. Honestly, it's the liberal hubs like the college towns and Madison and Milwaukee that have pulled Wisconsin through all of these years.

I don't know what snapped back in 2010, but the shit coming out of my state makes it seem like it's coming from the rural south.

They're still in the midst of the Scouring of the Shire. Hopefully Frodo and the gang come back this year to temper this madness.

I've often wondered about what went wrong and why Minnesota and Wisconsin went two diametrically opposed routes.

Northern Wisconsin is gorgeous, and would be a picturesque place to settle down in. Unfortunately, the politics bar that from being a genuine option.

And the reason Minnesota went stupid was a third party candidate named Jesse the body Ventura . Once a third party gains enough of the vote,you are stuck with them for at least two election cycles. And much like the Rethugs,we DFLers are not emume to the Seniority complex. Plus,no one wanted to challenge the Mega Churches which turn out 70 thousand votes for the Hate Party.

We would love to return to our Hometown Areas,but there is nothing there for us,to dam backassward. And the real estate taxes have gone nuts.

I flirt with the idea of going back to Madison or Stevens Point (no where in Rock County, as that whole area has been crushed since GM left), but I'm often reminded that there's nothing there for me outside of nostalgia, and nostalgia won't launch a career or put a roof over my head.

I have many friends that are still trapped in Wisconsin, and I hope they will embark on their own self-imposed exiles in the years to come.

I fear it will take decades to undo the damage Walker and his lackeys have done to Wisconsin. There's a lot of anger in Wisconsin right now, but it's being directed in all of the wrong places.

Minnesota seems to be doing quite well for itself now though. Is that in part because they already danced with the devil and decided it wasn't for them, or are the cultures really that different across the river?

On Friday night,everyone in St Paul went home for the weekend to Wisconsin. Everyone in Minneapolis went home to out state Minnesota. Most of the settlers of Minnesota and Wisconsin were just extended families. Mostly of Germanic decent,even though the Swedes and Norges get the credit for it.

Like you,the last time we were back to Wiscony,the same thoughts. But we knew we could never do it,to many social economic things happening and you would end up trapped like most of our Rellies and acquaintance's. Worst part,as Seniors the safety net is totally gone,emergency services and Health Care facilities are few and far between were we would settle. Hour away on a worn out two lane beat to hell highway is not going to do it.

I just FEEL that he's an asshole.
