This was satire in the 70s. The tragedy is that nobody would recognize it as satire today.

Now politicians and influential lobbyists seriously suggest everyone packing heat would end gun violence.
It's like watching people from the 1870s laugh at the idea that someday city streets wouldn't need horse-pulled trolleys.
