where the will to short term power and wealth are the measures of success, it is easy to confuse low cunning with high intelligence. You assume the brightest guy in the room is the bullshitter with the best scheme to make you richer and more powerful quicker and easier than the other guy. Power elites are as susceptible to the pitch as other suckers.
