It's not as if there haven't been rotten smears in the past. I remember one my grandparents and parents talked about--a wonderful leftist named Hellen Gahagan Douglas, who was smeared by Richard Nixon as a "communist" in the early 1950s in Los Angeles, in a congressional race. This was a long time ago, and I remember my grandpa darkly predicting that Nixon would be president some day. (It was a successful smear--he won.)

But I've never seen quite the growth of this malignant politics as we have today, and, frankly, I can't think of any DEMOCRAT who has done it, except Hillary Clinton. It is shocking. To portray THE greatest leftist of our era--greatest because he has taken on this amazing campaign--as a sexist and a racist IS mindboggling. It is the definition of mindboggling. It twists reality--and minds--into knots, and baffles reason itself. And it's being done, in typical Brockian style, SNEAKILY, with paid operatives and planted lies and dirty tricks.

He's to the left of the Labour party, the official opposition, but I suppose when you come from a country where the Republican forerunner talks of building walls and banning all Moslems anything centrist or even centre right seems left wing.

In Europe it's centrist, even moderately right wing to support UHC. David Cameron wouldn't dare talk about dismantling the NHS. It would be electoral suicide. In far right America Republicans call it Socialised Medicine and talk of repealing Obamacare.

America is far to the right of and out of sync with every other liberal democracy on the planet.

The NHS has never been safe in Tory hands. That's why the Junior Doctors are taking industrial action.

They did dig up facts supporting it that I didn't, but the whole Bernie Bros anti-Hillary and anti-Elizabeth thing simply smacks too much of dirty tricks to be real. That the most offensive post was by a teabagger is interesting, but I still suspect even that may turn out to be by a paid hack. There's too much of this crap going on in GOPer-land and we don't need it in ours.

Either Senator Sanders or Secretary Clinton will get my vote in November. We might be able to rely on the Republicans self-destructing, but I doubt it. I'm not sure how Cenk becomes a supporter of the Democratic nominee if Senator Sanders is unsuccessful.

The dirty tricks have been coming out since before Bernie officially announced. First it was that Bernie was an out of touch white guy who didn't have a clue and was a one track candidate. He isn't and his campaign is multi-faceted. But the nonsense just keeps on keeping on.
