(919 posts)I'm sure the media are getting little perks from the Hillary campaign. Bernie wouldn't do that. He's not bought like Hillary is.

(13,870 posts)Let's say Bernie actually winds up with a small majority of pledged delegates from the primaries. Why couldn't many of the Super Delegates simply remain with Hillary because they say she is a Democrat and Bernie is an Independent? That could be their argument. Bernie only became a Democrat in order to run for President-you hear this on DU all the time-he's not a "real" Democrat.

(1,782 posts)As you illustrate, the super delegates have the potential to undermine democracy within the Democratic Party. Even if Bernie wins a majority of pledged delegates, Hillary may still win the nomination with super delegates' votes.
If that happens, there will be some righteous anger among Bernie's supporters -- enough, I think, to establish a movement with Bernie as our leader.

(10,495 posts)Under Bill Clinton legislation was passed to allow them to get bigger. The FCC is supposed to regulate this, but every merger has been green lighted. This occurred not just with media companies, but banks, oil companies etc.
How did this happen? Through campaign donations and later, Super PACs of cooouuurse! The regulatory agencies are all a caricature of themselves now! They are headed by political appointees from the companies they are supposed to regulate. Their budgets were cut to the point that they cannot actually regulate if they did want to, which they don't. The refinery and chemical industries "self report" their violations (yeah right)! OSHA, EPA and other agencies are spread way too thin. It's all by design!
Hillary will NEVER, EVER do anything to change this! Bernie, with our help will!
Feel the Bern!
