1. Bernie is right, he is way out of touch

Greenspan's rhetoric response had nothing to do with what Bernie had just outlined for him. He displayed how out of touch he was.

People like Greeenspan live in a bubble and have no idea how people live in America.

I have an idea:
NEW LAW -- all elected officials must go on 'reality of America' field trips once a year for a week.

2. Greenspan is not merely "out of touch" with the plight of the middle class.

Greenspan is one of the chief architects of the monetary and fiscal policies that are destroying the middle class.

Moreover, the Federal Reserve, which Greenspan headed for years, is a chief instrument in implementing the policies that are enabling the "transfer" of middle class assets from the middle class to the banks and Wall Street.

4. Right-wingers always bring this up : 'People flock to our country ? Why do

they do that, if it isn't Shangri-la (not necessarily verbatim..)?

The answer is very simple. Most people are not worldly-wise. They are very gullible. They believe what Hollywood has depicted over the years is the real America. I wonder how many Cubans have risked their lives sailing on rafts of one and or another to get to Florida, and have ended up homeless and sleeping rough, and living off food stamps.

6. The equation is so simple, it's difficult to believe so many

don't get it. The rich, the right wing, keep as much of the nation's income for themselves as possible, so the country cannot but suffer, it is bound to deteriorate.

Moreover, since by its nature capitalism ensures that the rich can never have enough, the economy and infrastructure of the country must continue to go south, until it reaches the situation we have now (most notably in the US), i.e. being on the verge of an unparalleled, economic collapse. Presumably, it was what Uncle Karl was talking about when he spoke about capitalism bearing within it the seeds of its own destruction.

And, by the way, I was always pretty poor at Maths at school, so the fact that even I get it....
