Even though a majority of American believe that big money in politics is a disaster, corporate America isnt slowing down in throwing money at the candidates of their choosing. Ring of Fires Mike Papantonio and Farron Cousins discuss this.

(4,667 posts)The US is a desirable place to live and urban areas are economically active. What that means is that many people will be displaced and will literally have nowhere to go that they are familiar enough with to have a decent chance of survival. the only options many are likely to have are outside of the US.
The US is a very unfriendly place for people who are 'just getting by'. There will be less and less of that slack that many people are used to. because its a slippery slope. Neoliberalism is an amoral system, its designed to be amoral.
America will get even less friendly for many if the price of energy, for example, rises a great deal, the same goes for food, water, health care, especially. Nobody is going to help millions of people. they simply will start leaving, I have no idea where to- but there wont be any other options-
The same will be happening n other countries, people will have to leave- There isnt any place for all those people to go, ovbviously, but without money there wont be any place for them to stay- either.
At the same time, people - global firms- the low bidders on projects- will be taking the low end jobs away due to globalization.
With tax receipts falling rapidly, townships cities, etc, to maintain services will have to avail themselves of these low bidding firms, worstening the problem. Its a mandatory part of liberalisation, and its been in the pipeline for 20 years-
That will likely lead to difficulties for people which they will only be able to resolve by leaving. It wont be good for millions of peoples mental health to stay. They will have to leave - Make no mistake about it, this is the biggest challenge the human race has ever faced- its the existential crisis for our species- we'll be in serious trouble as a nation if we continue as we are but that is just part of the global picture, its not occurring in a vacuum.
We have to realize the true nature of the system we're buying into, fast. Its not some little thing, its a system that has no compassion for people in that situation, compassion and rights of people to live have literally been designed out of it. Intentionally.
