1. Et tu Lawrence? "The so-called sport of Dressage"? God damn it, just because you have never heard of

it and it's most immediate well known competitor is the wife of a clueless asshole, why denigrate the entire sport? Come on out and let me take you through a routine workout, I'll bet good money you beg off, or die of a heart attack, before you finish one session.

And you ruined The West Wing, asshole!
K&R for the post though.

not specifically for Ann Romney, who doesn't ride the horse. I didn't hear Lawrence denigrate the entire sport..

the participants, both the horse and the rider, to perform extremely difficult tasks while making it look effortless.

And you might listen again, he said "the so-called sport" right at the top.

And he still ruined The West Wing.

5. "The so-called sport of baseball"

"The so-called sport of American football".

Neither of those is denigrating, are they. (Do I need a sarcasm thingy?)

Dressage is practiced at elite levels. It's also practiced at non-elite levels. A bit like baseball and American football. My daughter did dressage for years and we're not rich. Don't even own a horse.

And, yes, this sort of tax deduction makes me sick. But there many more. For example, a company can take a guest to an expensive restaurant and feed him/her fresh lobster and bottles of wine and then claim it on tax. But a single mum scraping to put bread and butter on the table for her kids...not so much.

What Romney's doing is bad. But it's no worse than what many people and companies do. Just because it's "linked" to dressage, doesn't make it worse than all the other rorts.
