Ocasio-Cortez was later told by her local Board of Elections that her party affiliation was changed during Hurricane Sandy. The devastating storm hit right before Election Day 2012, and in an emergency measure, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) allowed New York residents to vote at any precinct via affidavit ballot. Ocasio-Cortez was stuck in New York City for the storm, so she voted there instead of in Westchester.
Apparently when I signed that affidavit my party affiliation was waived, Ocasio-Cortez wrote.

(4,211 posts)I noticed hillary's lawyer is missing for this one. Guess she doesn't care if voters in New York are suppressed or not.

(9,865 posts)that there are suddenly 63,000 less Democratic voters. But, they then go on to scratch their heads and say no one can figure out why that is. They don't report that the reason is that registered Democrats are reporting being dropped or switched. At least, not that I've heard.

but it's just the news. The 63,000 figure really pricked my ears. Followed by the lack of analysis. I've heard it several times today. Maybe it's "All Things Considered" which I think is the usual 1 or 2 hour news program for NYC.

Could have heard it on one of the morning talk shows toolike Brian Lehrer?--because they've been all about the elections all week. I don't listen carefully, because I'm working most of the time, and have it on in the back ground. Wish I could be more helpful.
By hook or by crook. This has to change.

(41,831 posts)People are trying to badly steal this election... so many Democrats turned to Unaffiliated is super suspicious. You look back to the 2000 election where George W. Bush won that election by slimy means, it may happen again...with Donald Trump. Republicans have been screaming voter fraud, but it seems they don't mind cheating the system so it falls their way like loaded dice.
