It's a fact. The disparity between income groups and their voting participation is huge.

http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/01/income-gap-at-the-polls-113997

Of course, in the battle of 5-second sound bites already the HillaryHounds have pounced on the statement in defense of all poor people. Their faux empathy would be better served by recognizing the problem and trying to fix it instead of exploiting poor people's unique voting challenges for their own benefit.

every single day. Do you know now he is trying to win by Super Delegates now that he can't win by pledged delegates. It is the height of hypocrisy and is a perfect example of his win at any cost strategy, even if its destructive to the Democratic party and would guarantee us a Republican President. I am a reluctant Hillary supporter, but in no way would I want her to win by anything but pledged delegates, and I would not vote for her if she had to steal the nomination away from Bernie with Super Delegates. And at the beginning of the primary, Bernie and his supporters were saying the exact same thing. Now, the campaign and many of his supporters are starting to say something completely different, and to me, its just disgusting.

"80% of poor people don't vote"

This truth affects all of us, including HRC supporters.

We need to acknowledge the problem in order to begin exploring the reasons for this and propose some solutions. The reasons are numerous, so there would need to be some serious work in this area. But having a major candidate begin the conversation is a good start.

Low voter turnout among the poor has been a worrisome problem for a very long time now. All people deserve to be empowered with a vote. It's one of the few ways we can all still be heard --assuming an average person's vote still counts for something--

So once again, thanks Bernie for speaking the truth!

I guess I'm an exception to that broad-brush speculation... since I'm poor and I vote in every election, including for school board members even though I have no children.
