if this is true then that is true. "every continent I have lived on has bears so every continent must have bears". I use that when people tell me there is life on other planets. I remind them that Australia has no bears and that nature is funny. It proves nothing of course but it lets people challenge their foundations of thinking. Probability states there is life out there, but that does not rule out the possibility that we are unique in that and that possibility increases dramatically if we are talking about life while we have life. Time is immense but for us so short.
