My fellow Democrats need to quit acting like raising taxes is a sin.

Raising taxes is only a sin to the misguided Republican Grover Norquist.

how and where we spend that money. We are giving money to companies like GE, Exxon, General Dynamics, while the Pentagon cannot account for trillions!

I saw a Rhode Island election official say they cut the number of polling places because there wasn't enough money in the budget. Really? We do not have enough money to run fair elections in America? We need to adjust our priorities. Just cutting the waste and fraud from the Pentagon would pay for a great public education system and have some left over to increase the social safety net!

Hillary loves the Pentagon so they will continue to bleed our treasure while we tighten our belts even further!

They have abandoned the general welfare as a concern. The general welfare should be central consideration.

May 1, Logan, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Approximately 200 Hillary Clinton supporters gathered in Logan Middle School's cafetorium to see former President Bill Clinton speak on his wife's behalf.

Protesters made up of Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders supporters gathered outside the school.

Supporters at the rally tell WSAZ their main concern is the economy.

After his stop in Logan, President Clinton will head to Charleston where he will speak at the capitol rotunda. Doors open for that event at 1:45 p.m. Sunday.

Hillary Clinton is scheduled to be in Ashland, Ky and Williamson, W.Va on Monday. Details for those events have not been released yet.

April 30, TriStateUpdate, Logan Officials Message to Clinton Campaign

After the Clinton campaign staff attempted to use the City of Logan Fire Department facilities for the Clinton upcoming visitations to the area, fire department officials contacted the Mayor of Logan about the situation. Logan officials then took matters into their own hands and sent an e-mail sent to Mike Browning, a representative for Senator Joe Manchin.
The e-mail states the following: Mike, While we appreciate all that you and Senator Manchin's office have done for the City Of Logan over the years we must make the following statement:

Bill and Hillary Clinton are simply not welcome in our town. Mrs. Clinton's anti-coal messages are the last thing our suffering town needs at this point. The policies that have been championed by people like Mrs. Clinton have all but devastated our fair town, and honestly, enough is enough. We wish them the best in their campaign, however we again state they are not welcome on our city properties. We hope that you will respectfully consider NOT visiting our community. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, 304-xxx-xxxx. I am writing this on behalf of the City Of Logan.
Logan officials feel that the Clintons will not adequately support the well-being of its voters.
On March 13, 2014 during a Democratic Town Hall event in Ohio, Hillary Clinton stated " "We're going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business."
Logan officials have reacted to Hillary Clinton and her statement by informing Senator Manchin of their feelings towards her stance on the coal industry and do not want the Clintons within Logan city limits.

Bill Clinton is scheduled to visit Logan and Charleston on Sunday April 30, 2016. Hillary Clinton is scheduled to visit Williamson, WV on Monday May 01, 2016. More campaign stops are scheduled in West Virginia, but the details have still not been released. Democratic Party Who Endorsed Bernie Last Fall Spoke Along with State Senator JEFF KESSLER Who Introduced Bernie.

UPDATE: Bernie Sanders energizes crowd in Huntington, UPDATE 4/26/16 @ 11 p.m.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Thousands packed the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington on Tuesday night to hear Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. During his one-hour speech, Sanders shared his talking points with the energetic crowd. "We are going to create an economy that protects the needs of our workers, our children, our seniors, our veterans -- all of the people of this country and not just the one (wealthiest) percent," Sanders said.
At one point the crowd chanted a variation of the "We are Marshall" cheer, replacing "Marshal" with "feeling the Bern."

Applause broke out when he talked about how he wants to implement free tuition at public colleges and universal healthcare. Sanders also talked about wanting to transform the energy system in America.
Sanders talked about how he wants to change the energy system in America and is opposed to fossil fuels because of climate change. It's a position that's not popular in coal mining communities in West Virginia, but Sanders says they won't leave those who lose their jobs behind.
"We have a moral obligation to make certain that those people who may lose their jobs get new jobs," Sanders said.

Among those gathered was Suzanne Strait, who said Sanders has a different vision than the other candidates.
“I think he can do a lot, because a lot has been going on here has not been working and getting worse,” Strait said. “So we have to, as he says, think outside the box and try some of these new ideas he has to get people back to work.”
Sanders said in states with a high voter turnout, he wins.

"Republicans and Budget Catastrophes Like Peas and Carrots", CHRISTOPHER J. REGAN, Charleston Gazette, Nov. 17, 15.
"Republicans have been crowing about the record number of state legislatures they control lately. The right wing has full control of the statehouses in some 31 states, including West Virginia. Some commentators say this is A PERMANENT SHIFT TOWARD REPUBLICAN CONTROL OF AMERICA, while GOP flacks just brag about it.
But they do a whole lot less bragging about how it is going in those states for working people. The reality on the ground is that state after state that allowed full control by Republicans saw budget catastrophes swiftly follow.
Many states that fell under the magical thinking of right wing economics are so deeply in debt that they can no longer fund basic services, let alone make the investments necessary to compete in the 21st century. Take a Look around GOP-controlled America, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Kansas, *West Virginia." More:http://www.wvgazettemail.com/article/20151117/GZ04/151119580/1455

When Bernie says it, I believe he is sincere.

Even Wal-marts, the largest employer there I think are closing in WV I just read here. Terrible.
People of that area and background have high regard for sincerity and honesty. And they should, as much as they have been exploited.
Logan's a tough town to play, always and for good reason! But Bernie has supporters there which I believe.
