He was a regular delegate to Republican conventions. I don't know where people ever got the idea he was ever a Democrat.

The party will fawningly support him over more liberal Democrats. DU will find him to be their new darling. Sensible Woodchucks will praise him on his financial sense, no-nonsense approach, and centrist views.
