1. Talk About the Golden Rule...

The DNC has really been s#*tty in the way they have treated Bernie Sanders. Bernie has really put up with a huge amount of crap from them, all in the interest of party unity and winning against the Republicans in November. Frankly, I don't know how he has been able to take it! He must have the patience of a saint! Neither has the corporate mainstream media been very considerate of Bernie, ramming their constant barrage of "you don't stand a chance" talking points down his throat in interview after interview - when they could no longer ignore him.

Mercury is going retrograde today, and Mercury retrograde periods are often times when people are led to rethink their plans and strategies. Considering all the crap he has taken from the DNC, why doesn't Bernie just run as an independent? Of course, everyone is haunted by the memory of the 2000 election, and how a third party run by Ralph Nader virtually handed the election to that fool and jerk, W., or Baby Bush.

Historically, third party runs have never succeeded, and there has been a whole lot of editorializing about how and why third parties never work in American politics. But the fact is, both of the major parties, both Democrats and Republicans, are now so dysfunctional and out of touch with the American people that their real political viability is fading fast. And as Charles Koch's recent remarks have shown, Hillary ain't that bad for him, and the rest of the .001 percent. Maybe the whole thing of party loyalty and loyalty to the two party system is just an outdated albatross that they are hanging around the necks of the 99% as they ditch traditional party loyalties to go with the candidate that is the most loyal and beholden to their interests - which would be Hillary Clinton. Maybe the whole clown car drama of the Republican primaries was just a carefully scripted charade and puppet show designed to lead everyone to the corporate heir apparent - Hillary Clinton.

What everyone can agree on is that this 2016 election season has been a very anomalous one for both parties - and the forces of destiny at work in our political system just might have some huge surprises in store for us yet. Maybe the force of truth and mass populism may just win out this time, and Bernie just might succeed as a third party candidate. I wonder what is going through Bernie's head right now, and also what was rolling around in the back of his mind as he produced this ad.
