Hillary Clinton v. 2008 was concerned about Obama's associations with Jeremiah Wright and some connection to Louis Farrakhan, and, out of the blue, somehow Hamas. She says it "deserves further exploration."

(45,251 posts)an African reference. I've never seen a Muslim in the US or Canada or Europe dressed like this though. Apart from those who cover their heads, Muslim men dress in the clothing of their country or the country to which they've immigrated. I think the pics were a twofer, much as dual citizenship was a twofer against Sanders

Clinton aides claim Obama photo wasn't intended as a smear
Barack Obama's campaign team today accused Hillary Clinton's beleaguered staff of mounting a desperate dirty tricks operation by circulating a picture of him in African dress, feeding into false claims on US websites that he is a Muslim.
Obama's campaign manager, David Plouffe, described it as "the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we've seen from either party in this election". Obama has had to spend much of the campaign stressing he is a Christian not a Muslim and did not study at a madrassa.
Aides for Mrs Clinton, who is fighting a last-ditch battle to keep her hopes of the White House alive, initially tried to brush off the furore, but later denied having anything to do with the distribution of the picture. "I just want to make it very clear that we were not aware of it, the campaign didn't sanction it and don't know anything about it," Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson told reporters. "None of us have seen the email in question."

Uh huh. Sheer coincidence that it came out of the Hillary campaign. Sounds to me like shuckin and jivin'.
Ironically, the first time I used that expression in a post during this primary, a Hillary supporter alerted on me for racism. FYI, it's not an expression that rolls of the tongue (or keyboard) of anyone who has lived all her life in the Northeast (or in Albany). So, I now include this link for jurors. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shuckin'_and_jivin'

(3,146 posts)So I ask this in a health related way; She seemed like she was in pretty good shape back in 2008, and by that I mean she looked healthy and relatively fit. Did her regimen really change that much during her time at State? Bill also looks very unhealthy but he's had major health issues. Has she too? It's been a drastic change.
8 years adds a shitload of aging, but yeah she looks pretty worn down........

(3,146 posts)If she were a client, I would want to know what she did differently with her diet and exercise routine. It does not look healthy, especially considering how she looked in '08. I know I look different now at 41 than I did at 33 when Obama ran, but her composition change is drastic.
