If mankind were to suddenly disappear, shut down the nuclear & coal fired power plants, demolish every man-made dam and basically reverse every unnatural process we've set into motion.
After the poles melt completely and without interference from selfish mankind, Earth's natural self-sustaining eco-systems will restore the ice sheets. Unfortunately, a significant quantity of the Earth's living species will have perished because convenience is sexy and we-needed-convenience-dammit!
