Related: About this forumMike Malloy - Is Hillary’s E-mail Nightmare About to Explode?
While Hillary Clinton is busy trying to put the Democratic primary race behind her and pivot to the general election against presumptive G.O.P. nominee Donald Trump, the past several days have served as a stark reminder that Clinton is not yet clear of a potential scandal that still threatens to derail her campaign: the F.B.I. is nearing the completion of its investigation into her use of a private server to send classified e-mails, with the results expected be released before November.

(1,884 posts)Hillary, while Secretory of State, did expose national security secrets residing on her private E-mail server that was in her home, by sending and receiving E-mails with a person she was using as an adviser, without any security clearance on their part..
She exposed national security secrets?
You do know that the State Department servers were actually hacked right?
There's been no proof or evidence that her personal servers were hacked.

Of course you do. If you were so stupid as to not know that then using a computer would be too difficult for you.
Surely you must be repeating that failed excuse for a different reason. Care to clarify your motivations for us here?

There's no excuse, just fact, something you obviously have no understanding of.

(1,884 posts)Having your own stand alone E-mail server exposed to the Internet is just asking for it. You have no way of knowing if it was or not anyway. The odds are that is was hacked numerous times. Both Russia and China are good at it, and cleaning up their footprints when they leave.

(9,375 posts)Then what in your background involving government computers makes you qualified to pass a ridiculous accusation involving factual and legal matters you know nothing about?
And what in the world does my expertise have to do with anything you make up?
-none
(1,884 posts)You don't have any expertise on this and you question mine?
The FBI would not be investigating Hillary's E-mail server for this long, if there wasn't anything to investigate.
beastie boy
(9,375 posts)And you keep second-guessing the FBI?
Pahleeeze! I will not even challenge your claims of expertise. They are irrelevant.
You are not giving me your opinion on Hillary's computer security. You are giving me your opinion on something you are clueless about: the content of Hillary's server and how it relates to national security - something you know jack shit about. What you are saying is, because you allege to be an expert in computer security, Hillary is guilty.
WTF?
-none
(1,884 posts)I said "Because I am better educated on computer security than you." Apparently that is a lower bar than I thought.
It is your claims of computer security expertise that are in question here, for thinking Hillary's private server, that she used for off government storage of government information and documents, while SoS, is no big deal.
Try telling the FBI that. See how long they let you stick around before rolling their eyes and telling you need to leave their building.

(9,375 posts)This is your post, no?
And I had a security clearance.
You gave me this as the reason why I should take you seriously.
But if you are walking this back, even more reason to ignore your uninformed opinion of Hillary's culpability.

We all know that all left wingers like Mike Malloy are part of a vast right wing conspiracy. Besides, in opposing Hillary, Malloy only exposes himself as a misogynist who probably beats his wife to keep her from supporting Hillary, like all good Democrats do.

(55,981 posts)I see why some try to pretend that's reality. So much easier. But the truth is this class war is between the Progressive Wing and the Conservative Wing of our Party. The Oligarchy runs the Republicon Party and the Conservative (ala Clinton) Wing of our Party. The Oligarchy has made it clear that Clinton is their candidate. They won't let any harm come to her. They hundreds of millions invested.

(90,714 posts)Various agencies investigate because that's what they do for a living. As often as not, the investigation clears someone's name, and points somewhere else.
A "potential scandal" has the power to hurt someone in the court of public opinion, which is what so many of you are panting after. The GOP (which has hated both Clintons from the time they first laid eyes on them) and The Left (bless your hearts) want so badly for this to be true -- >shaking my head<

(23,156 posts)keeps on dragging on, quite a bit like Hillary's failure to secure the nomination keeps on dragging on.
I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that someone who truly despises her is in charge of this investigation, and is just waiting until either after she finally has enough pledged delegates, or until after she secures the nomination (finally!) at the convention, and then indicts.
It would completely destroy her chance of winning the GE, and any replacement for her would be likewise totally fucked.
And if she doesn't get the nomination? The entire investigation may finally end without any indictment, because it will no longer matter.
antigop
(12,778 posts)I think the email thing keeps dragging on because TPTB want it to drag on until she makes it through to the convention.
Then one of two things happen:
1) TPTB try to slip Biden in.
2) HRC thinks she can make it through the election because IT'S HER TURN.
eta: After re-reading your post, I updated mine.
SheilaT
(23,156 posts)are not part of this.* It's my opinion (and opinion only as I have no access to any information other than what we all read about in all of the public places) that whoever the one person in charge of the investigation into the email thing personally has it it for her.
Slipping in Biden isn't going to happen. Or even if it somehow could -- and the only possibility of that I can see is that she selects him as her VP, she's forced to drop out of the head of the ticket place after the convention, not before, and he therefore gets bumped up to the head of the ticket. If all hell breaks loose before the Convention, I find it hard to picture the delegates moving over to Biden in large enough numbers, certainly not to elect him on the first go-around. If such hell has broken loose prior to the convention, it would all hinge on what the pledged Hillary delegates choose to do. As well as the unpledged super delegates.
In any case, that won't happen smoothly. It will be a very nasty rerun of what happened in 1972, especially if she gets the nomination and then is forced to drop out, and will disgust so many people that essentially hardly anyone will bother to vote for the Democrat at the top of the ticket come November.
No matter what you, or anyone else reading this thinks of my hypothesis, I want to emphasize that it is highly speculative.
*Your definition of TPTB may well include the person in charge of the FBI investigation.
antigop
(12,778 posts)I think it's a possibility -- the party and the DNC are that clueless that they would try it.
