There have been a lot of polls that have come out recently, and they all have one thing in common: Hillary Clinton is in trouble. Donald Trump is beating her in many general election match-ups, and it only looks like its going to get worse. Shouldnt this scare us a little bit? Ring of Fires Farron Cousins discusses this.

(45,251 posts)Trump means absolutely nothing.
Trouble is, it has been her consistent pattern to start high in polls, then go down, even just during her book tour.
But, don't worry about that. There will be plenty of time to fix it in December.

(45,251 posts)when people think the two nominees have been chosen, the objection to "head to a head" poll makes less sense than objecting to them early on. Moreover, head to head polls are the ONLY indication of what might happen in the general before the convention.

(18,998 posts)People want change...the independents want change. And Hillary represents the establishment like none other...the dynasty problem.
The GOP should have been a clue...Jeb who was the equivalent of Hillary lost badly and dropped out.
And the only one who did well was the outsider...who has never held a political office.
Too bad we did not get the message.

She also represents change...the other two candidates will continue the rule of the Oligarchs...

(18,998 posts)Sometimes a person will press the destruct button...because it seems like the only real choice you have.
It don't mean they like it, it just means change is better than continuation of the same thing you want to get rid of.
History if full of it.

(8,409 posts). . . when asked to choose between dying instantly in a car that hits a brick wall at 90mph, and being in a car that does a slow roll down an embankment, resulting in multiple, painful, but not immediately fatal, injuries, then dying while waiting for help that never arrives, some will opt to put their own foot on the accelerator!

(45,251 posts)Maybe that will happen next time, or maybe they will see how furious Democrats are at DWS and the undemocratic institution of super delegates and let the people decide. Hard to tell.

(18,998 posts)But it may not matter at all which Republican wins...they can count on them all to "do the right thing".
And so Hillary as POTUS is no great threat because they can count on her too...especially if war is their next goal because as a woman she will have to prove she can be a war president, much like Thatcher.
The only real threat to the status quo is Sanders...he is too unpredictable for the PTB.
