Mexico now a US citizen and still has an extremely thick accent and speaks to her own kids in Spanish and prefers to speak in Spanish as that is her first language. Of course in business or with English speaking folk she speaks English . I try to correct her if she pronounces something wrong as she is still learning even though a citizen. Slang is hard for her.
This is exactly what people are upset about . If you have an accent or are speaking in Spanish haters assume you are illegal which means you are a criminal possibly a murderer or druggie. She came here on an exchange program for Spanish speaking teachers from the university of Mexico City and eventually became a citizen . Nothing illegal about that but doubt trump vigilantes
