(10,337 posts)Our 8th grade final exam was.., write a 250 word essay on China, Russia or Viet Nam or take him to dinner. Well, fuck that! I had an after school job so I took him to dinner in Chinatown in San Francisco. He taught me how to use chopsticks. I remember nothing else from his class but the proper use of chopsticks serves me to this day.

(23,156 posts)I don't stick my elbow in the air, and I have great control over them.
What really annoys me is that I always have to ask for chopsticks, that they aren't already with the place setting.

(16,296 posts)Chopsticks and food prep done in Oriental fashion go hand-in-hand (no pun intended). Food is diced and prepared to be handled via chopsticks, bite size and manageable (although noodles still evade me).
