If any Republican gives you crap about those 3 "classified" in 30,000 emails...

Show them this. It's Director Comey being forced to admit that according to the federal government's own rules, they weren't properly classified.

2. Nope. Those were emails that "contained information an agency considered classified"

Emails in Clinton Probe Dealt With Planned Drone Strikes
Some vaguely worded messages from U.S. diplomats in Pakistan and Washington used a less-secure communications system
The vaguely worded messages didn’t mention the “CIA,” “drones” or details about the militant targets, officials said. The still-secret emails are a key part of the FBI investigation that has long dogged Mrs. Clinton’s campaign, these officials said. They were written within the often-narrow time frame in which State Department officials had to decide whether or not to object to drone strikes before the CIA pulled the trigger, the officials said. State Department officials told FBI investigators they communicated via the less-secure system on a few instances, according to congressional and law-enforcement officials. It happened when decisions about imminent strikes had to be relayed fast and the U.S. diplomats in Pakistan or Washington didn’t have ready access to a more-secure system, either because it was night or they were traveling. One reason is that government workers at several agencies, including the departments of Defense, Justice and State, have occasionally resorted to the low-side system to give each other notice about sensitive but fast-moving events, according to one law-enforcement official.

And some of those got CCed to Secretary Clinton, and so were in her email inbox. "I'm talking to a lot of pissed off generals here, maybe some other government agency might want to chill for a while" is considered top secret by the CIA/FBI, because you see, absolutely no one knows the CIA is bombing people with drones.

That's the entire bullshit "scandal" in a nutshell. Her having a private email server like 200 other major Washington figures and a handful of vague messages that got onto her server.

Plus lying by kooks and haters. Lots of that.

did was give the Republicans something else to freak out about. The investigations will continue
as long as the Clintons exist. This reminds me of a t-shirt I saw "The floggings will continue until moral
improves."

5. Rep. Ted Lieu (D) From California....also addressed this point at hearing

Jul 2016

During part of his questioning (later part of Rep. Lieu video from oversight hearing), Lieu said, "Now, let's do a little bit of math here...

"....1% of 30,000 emails would be 300 emails. Is that right? Comey: I think that's right.

So...30 emails would be 1/10 of 1% , and THREE emails would be 1/100 of 1% of 30,000 emails. Is that right? Comey:That's right.

So...of those (3) THREE emails, 1/100 of 1% of 30,000 emails, they have these tiny, little classified markings which is as you described, a 'c' with parentheses, correct? Comey: Correct

IS IT POSSIBLE that a busy person who has sent or received 30,000 emails just might miss this marking of a 'c' in parentheses....it is possible, correct? Comey: Correct "

The information put out by Representative cartwright is, but I would have perferred had pressed Director Comey to give a yes answer instead of just saying "one can make that inference".

to Congress in effect by his inference that there were three classified emails when he knew otherwise.

"Did you consult with the State Department on these three e-mails?"

Suddenly, Comey developed a case of amnesia. It is that or admit you just lied to Congress.

Press Release
Cummings to Chaffetz:
Criminal Referral “Unwarranted” After Learning New Facts at Today’s Hearing With FBI Director

Washington, DC (July 7, 2016)—Today, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, sent a letter to Chairman Jason Chaffetz regarding his statements at today’s hearing that he is considering sending a referral to the FBI to investigate whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lied when she testified before Congress that she did not send or receive emails marked classified.
“When you made these statements regarding the classification markings at the beginning of the hearing, we had not yet heard key details about this issue from Director Comey,” Cummings wrote. “As the hearing pressed on, however, we learned some significant new facts.”

On Tuesday, Director Comey stated: “Only a very small number of the emails containing classified information bore markings indicating the presence of classified information.”

During today’s hearing, Director Comey testified that he was referring to only three emails out of more than 30,000; that the classification markings on these three documents were not proper and did not comply with federal guidelines or manuals; that he believed it would be a “reasonable inference” for Secretary Clinton to have “immediately” concluded these documents were not classified; and that he was not informed that the State Department reported yesterday that these emails were not in fact classified and included stray classification markings because of “human error.”
“I understand that there was some confusion about this issue going into the hearing, but the facts that were established helped clarify this issue, and for that reason today’s hearing served a valuable purpose,” Cummings wrote. “Based on this testimony, it appears that proceeding with a criminal referral in light of these new facts would be unwarranted.”

The State Department would not confirm anything was classified in fact they said they did not think some of the documents in question was classified.I have a feeling most of these e-mails that had classified information in them was classified by other agencies not the State Department.this is what caused the problem.
