They are still focused on her "emails, honesty, and other right wing talking points", not the issues.

4. Your response only backs up what Thom was saying in his commentary, Dr. Hobbitstein.

What does it say about our "news" media when Putin's media point out the half-assed coverage of U.S. media in our presidential campaigns?

Thom Hartmann doesn't just stand there and pontificate for 5 minutes, he has audio and video recordings of the evidence to back up his remarks.

Our lame news media spend too much time obsessing with the superficial crap and no time informing us on things that voters should know. That's a big reason why there's so much division politically in this country. People know where to tune to reinforce their political preconceptions and refuse to look elsewhere to find other sides and angles to an issue.

Conservatives are more inclined to tune to an authority figure or opinion leader to reinforce their beliefs. That's why Faux Snooze and RW hate radio draw larger audiences than liberal programs.

I recently heard a national sports talk show host comment on something that's dead-on: People don't tune to news for information, but for AFFIRMATION.

5. Hartman is a useless partisan hack.

I don't like talking heads, be they left or right. They all suck. Especially "liberal" ones who pay lip service to Putin.

Is it so much to ask for unbiased REPORTING from proper JOURNALISTS? Not opinion pieces from partisans.

Pro-Tip: Calling out Hartman for being on team Putin is not in ANY way giving approval to cable news. I watch neither.

8. If you watch neither how would you know anything about the topic?

And why would you say he gives lip service to Putin?

Why would you make that claim?

2. you're right Thom, and it is a disgrace. It has been going on like this for decades.

Entertainment Tonight news is what I refer to it as. I haven't watched the cable and satellite news outlets for decades.

Even though Bloomberg is a business channel, it actually discusses the issues that you and most folks find void from the other 24 hour news networks.

Very well said Thom, thanks

Just garbage.

Today CNN had two guys discussing how brilliant Trump was to keep getting media coverage.

Brilliant?

Or is it all about ratings? They had to nerve to discuss it as if the media had no choice in the matter. It does.

12. Click-bait news.

Journalists call all news now "click-bait" news. Online newspapers and indirectly TV too. The more clicks the more eyeballs and revenue. Afraid thats the present and future state of journalism.
