The world and the Internet are dangerous places. No reason to cower in fear but know who your real enemies are and what they can do.

That's been a common thread with Clinton and pro-Clinton PAC ads throughout this campaign. It's been a good strategy. But then again, Trump is the gift that keeps on giving with his daily delivery of foot-in-mouth disease.

Can you imagine the outrage from the Right if this same sort of stuff was dug up on Obama?

and that lessens the impact. I think it should identify the speakers if it is going to be shown to the public in general.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Manchurian_Candidate_(1962_film)

The Manchurian Candidate is a 1962 American black-and-white Cold War neo-noir suspense thriller, produced by George Axelrod and John Frankenheimer, directed by John Frankenheimer, and starring Frank Sinatra, Laurence Harvey, and Janet Leigh; co-starring are Angela Lansbury, Henry Silva, and James Gregory. The screenplay by George Axelrod is based on the 1959 novel The Manchurian Candidate by Richard Condon.

The Manchurian Candidate concerns the brainwashing of the son of a prominent right-wing political family, who becomes an unwitting assassin in an international communist conspiracy. The film was released in the United States on October 24, 1962, at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis. It was well-received and was nominated for two Academy Awards

That's one hell of a mainstream meme. Some political blogs and sizes, but NYT, WaPo, LATimes ... I've been paying attention to presidential races since elementary school in the mid 1950's and I've never seen anything even remotely like this. Unfortunately, it may mean the RNC ditch Trumplestiltskin and replace him with a designated candidate to be named later.

I'm glad they're hitting him on his tax return. He's been trying, unsuccessfully, to say Hillary isn't transparent. The fact he's hiding his financial dealings says a lot.

This add is too long and it is not linear. It's confusing for 95% of voters. Not sure who it was designed for.

It is not confusing.

It is designed for the thinking swing voters, disgusted Republicans, and any wavering Democrats. Definitely not designed for the close-minded hard-core Trumpers.

You know, I just watched the ad a second time to see if I was missing or had forgotten an important piece. And the answer is no. The ad sucks even more after watching it a second time.

Big question 1 - why is having ties to Russia and Putin inherently bad?

Seriously. This entire piece rests on the assumption that having ties to Russia is bad. But the Cold War ended when I was in elementary school. What does the average American know about Russia or Putin right this second?

Big question 2 - What is NATO and if I am one of the 10 or so percent of the population that can answer this question, do I care that Trump wants to leave NATO?

Big question 3 - Why do I care that Trunp sicced them on Clinton's emails? Honestly, so much awful stuff happens in a campaign season, I think folks think they are all equally bad.

What is missing from this piece is what does all of this mean FOR ME, the voter? Why should I care that Trump is helping Russia? Does it mean he isn't helping us? Nothing from this ad said that. So i don't know.

Hi,

The stand out in this ad is Trump himself.

"Putin has said some very nice things about me."

I'd like to see the Republican patriots eat that up.
