(32,723 posts)They're too stupid to know the courts are "government". Part of their unshakable faith in the courts is based on the whole Abrahamic notion of a supreme ethereal deity that judges you after you die.
When you start to talk to them about what government actually IS they look at you as if you are a victim of government propaganda.

(6,133 posts)I think there's more Christianity in Birch, but that aside, they are the same.
The Republicans did not accept Birchers in the early sixties. I will give them that, but today, there is no difference between Birchers, Libertarians, and the Republican Party. And they are all hypocrites.
Thom, can you imagine no zoning laws in a well to do guarded community, in which they would allow a blacksmith living there to light his coal forge every morning and hammer away at steel?
All those neighborhoods are completely zoned. Don't park on the street. No loud parties. The communities are gated. There's no reason to sue, because the rules are already made and enforced.
That does not apply to poorer people. So all their big talk about freedom and liberty applies only for people like themselves.
And the subject about the environment is the same. It's okay to pollute as long as it's not in their neighborhood. Except they are so dumbed down in their political philosophy, they don't accept the reality of climate change.
