I don't have cable, so only see TRMS through on-line sources, or Youtube via Apple TV. This 10.5 min segment was initially posted, cleanly, by a pro-Maddow youtuber. Within a half hour, youtube made it so the straight version dropped off the page of listed offerings on Apple TV, and wasn't available through the search function.

And there were dozens of versions of it added from far right sources, targeting Rachel with "echoes" (she's not Jewish), saying she's suicidal over PePe, calling her unhinged and crazy on channels that featured pro-hitler, pro-bircher Alex Jones, pro-Breitbart vids, etc. This segment threw them into a tizzy and became a rallying cry to them, and they "proved" how "powerful" they were through gaming the Youtube function.

I found the (normal) frog funny and had no idea about how this frog was adopted by these assholes until recently.
But it's pretty clear that Trump is courting the alt right and the messages they get out are meant for them as well. That explains some of the crazy rhetoric and also the gas chamber incident. They don't do this by accident.
