Great breakdown of how Hillary dissected Trump over the 3 debates.

(22,671 posts)She's done her part. Not it's time for us to come through for her, so she can accomplish those goals with a congress she can work with.
GOTV!

(43,197 posts)Can't agree she ran a high-risk strategy, she cached her barbs in
the ordinary flow of the topics and discourse, and if any of them had
flopped she would have moved on and no one would have thought
anything of it. The debates really revealed not so much Trump's
temperament or lack of preparation but his lack of intellect and
ability to focus; he couldn't fit the debate format.
She won also because her topics were well rehearsed and articulated,
and she at the most important moments did not allow his constant
interruptions to interfere with her delivery, she didn't stop, pause,
wasn't distracted, nonplussed, or diverted. Her sense of being and
looking (!) shocked at his responses are classic. It's as if she were
thinking "nothing that man says surprises me anymore" at each step.
Ezra, deplorable choice of attire!

(613 posts)Three debates without a single question on climate change or how to address it.
We all lost on this one.

(613 posts)From what I saw, it was Trump's performance at the debates that left his campaign in ruins, not Clinton's.
Trump was so bad in the debates a chimp would have won them handily.
I'm sorry, but I believe in giving credit where credit is due. All Hillary Clinton had to do was act like a civilized human being, which she did.

(2,065 posts)in these three debates, Hillary was still quite thorough in covering all the bases, and did mention, on at least two occasions that I can remember, that she at least accepted science on climate change, whereas her opponent was in denial of it, and thought it was a hoax.
I don't agree with the presenter of this video that everything, every answer, every move that Hillary made on the debate stage in these three debates was a brilliant, ruthless masterpiece of strategy, but there was definitely at least one thing that was: the Alicia Machado ploy. That was truly a brilliant, ruthless piece of master strategy, a ticking time bomb of a suggestion planted under Donald's skin that then caused him to slowly unravel, to self destruct. Before we knew it, the Donald was up at 3 AM tweeting about Alicia Machado's sex tapes, which proved to be non existent. But lo and behold - there were indeed sex tapes that surfaced, but the star of them was Donald Trump, on the Access Hollywood bus!
Hillary's debate prep team for that crucial second debate with the Alicia Machado time bomb surely must have included a master psychologist, as well as a team of dedicated researchers who had really dug into Donald Trump's past and gotten together all the damning evidence, and thoroughly assessed every one of his weak spots. And really - the dirt wasn't that hard to find, and was well known about the Donald.
This is all very comforting, but the Trump supporters I know almost all think Trump won the debate.
One fellow I know who was originally for Trump, then against Trump, is now back to rooting for Trump.
And remember: no matter who won last night's debate, there's a difference between winning a debate--whatever "winning" a debate means--and winning an election.
