Related: About this forumBike lock that makes thieves vomit
A noxious spray is emitted if the lock is cut into. The chemical makes a person vomit, a lot. They say it is legal (for now at least).

(This is not a political post, yet a unique product - to be sure.)

(3,569 posts)Best product ever. Losing bikes is pretty common around here. No matter the lock.

(111,263 posts)As it was, I used to take the seat with me. That plus a Citadel U-lock kept my bike safe.
It was just a pain in the ass having to set the seat before I could ride, that and put the front wheel back on.

(16,296 posts)I would REALLY be impressed. Then, again, the name "TRUMP" on it should be enough to induce violent vomiting.

(11,361 posts)Thieves are not the only thing that might breach a lock.

(4,150 posts)There are too many risk factors involved, and as you said, other things may trigger it. But in any case, I can't imagine it would be legal to spring a trap like that, but I, of course, am NO lawyer.

(18,479 posts)...I also predict a short life span for this. Booby traps are generally illegal whether they are deadly or not. The first time a suit is filed after someone dies or nearly dies from choking on their own vomit, there will be a recall. Jurisdictions will swarm to outlaw sales and possession.
We will be lucky if this product is recalled and removed forever with someone's death or trip to prison.
