Saw a similar video on another "nerd site" I frequent. The effect was truly incredible and I thought it worked very well with the story. Some have questioned the ethics involved but it is my understanding that Peter Cushing's family gave Disney their blessing.

and tv episodes with actors that are deceased.
Probably wont be any time soon of course as the tech ILM used seems pretty labor intensive but one day it could very well happen.

I watched what appeared to be a man who had died 20 years ago, appear on the screen with more fucking dialog than he had in the original film! Unbelievable and they deserve an Oscar for that. I read articles where even Cushing's longtime personal secretary was flabbergasted.



As a note, there were a number of scenes in the film where the character appeared but trying to find other clips is difficult.

where they recreated Arnold's character for the film so they could kill him off in the contest (Tried to find that clip, but not available - I guess).
