after watching and listening to the Dali Lama.
My smile and joy in my heart return, oh to have a leader that can do that.

P.S. To add, that I even made our own leader Edmund and myself laugh when I told him at a fundraiser Saturday night that I put a table full of deplorable fox news junkies next to his and Anne's table just to piss off the deplorables, and it worked.

One was a very large crowd and I was in the way back, he spoke in English. The other time was a smaller crowd and only Tibetan was spoken.

The security is tight. Both times, I saw them bring bomb smelling dogs on-stage just moments before he came out. The dogs searched and sniffed everything, including jumping up on the chair he would be sitting on.

Very special man.

I have to say... this is priceless. I have been to many teachings given by his Holiness the Dali Lama and his sense of humor and the love and intellect that flow from this man is palpable. I have been in crowds of over one hundred thousand people during public teachings where, when he leaves the stage or arena, the people attending spontaneously break into tears. They are so effected by his lessons that they cannot bear for him to leave. A special and rare human being indeed.

Absolutely enjoyed this and wished the interview had been 2 hours long!

Side note, I have a crush on John Oliver. I have never been attracted to a guy based solely on his intelligence, but I find his intelligence intoxicating.

The Dalai Lama's wisdom, love, and compassion are forces more powerful than anything the Chinese can manage. Such a joy to see his humor, too. Thank you, John Oliver, for bringing us a reminder of our full human potential in these dark days in our country.

"This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness."

“An eye for an eye….we are all blind” –

"An open heart is an open mind.”

“The goal is not to be better than the other man, but your previous self.”

This one could describe Trump:

“A spoon cannot taste of the food it carries. Likewise, a foolish man cannot understand the wise man´s wisdom even if he associates with a sage.”
